Dear Inventor:
In response to your request, the first step necessary for the
sale or development of a patentable invention is a preliminary
patentability search in the United States Patent Office to determine
whether the invention is new. Our staff performs this search.
To obtain a patentability search of your new product or idea,
provide us with a sketch showing your invention; preferably witnessed
and dated. Describe the operation of the invention and identify
all parts. Please include whatever further written information
that may be helpful to us in understanding the invention. We guarantee
the confidentiality of any idea disclosed to us.
Mail the sketch and written description to us by Certified Mail,
Return Receipt Requested. We will forward our report, including
the nearest patents which have been found during the search, within
1 to 4 weeks. An unsigned copy of our in-house patent or trademark
attorney's opinion will be provided. (This opinion has a market
value of up to $2,500.00 but is provided to you by the United
States Patent Society, Inc. free of additional charge as a public
service.)
When a search discloses an invention to be new, on request steps
are outlined in a letter which will enable you to obtain "Patent
Pending" status for the invention.
